OLGA CORNEJO, OFFICE MANAGER

OLGA CORNEJO, OFFICE MANAGER

Hi my name is Olga Cornejo and I am the Administrative Assistant at New School.   I graduated from Richmond High in 1996 and later went to Western Career College in San Leandro, CA.  I moved to Watsonville in 1998. I started working at New School in January 2003. Slowly Ihave continued taking some college classes at Cabrillo.

I have 2 beautiful daughters, one in college and the other still in elementary school. They are my pride and joy. I married my high school sweetheart in 1996 (yes, straight out of high school)

Mr. Don Eggleston founder and former principal of New School taught me everything about how to work with troubled youth.   The population we work with are good students who just need a little push. Coming to New School with smaller class sizes is very helpful. We become a small community and we care a lot about our students. We become a family.

Hi, my name is Silvia Rocha and I am the Campus Security at New School.

I was born in Michoacan, Mexico. I came to California when I was thirteen years old. I graduated from Aptos High School in 1998. I went to Cabrillo College and graduated with a Criminal Justice degree.

I have been working for the Pajaro Valley Unified School District for ten years. I was at Renaissance High School for nine years before I started working at New School in November of 2015. I am very happy working at New School because we work as a team. All the staff here has the same goal for the students, which is for them to succeed.

Adriana Sosa, Community School Specialist

Adriana Sosa, Community School Specialist

For those who haven't met me, my name is Adriana Sosa, and I'm excited to serve as your new Community School Specialist.

Watsonville is my hometown—I was born and raised here and attended PVUSD schools from kindergarten through high school. I'm the oldest of three children, and my parents, like many immigrant families, worked incredibly hard to give us a better life. They taught me the importance of education, but they also received help from our community, which shaped my belief that it takes a village to raise a child. It’s this village mentality—where parents, teachers, and community members work as a team—that inspired me to take on this role.

I bring over 18 years of experience from non-profit work, where I've helped individuals and families with everything from housing and utility assistance to financial management and connecting them with vital resources. I've learned that many families don't know all the resources available or how to advocate for themselves. My goal is to bridge that gap and ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed in and out of the classroom.

As a Community School Specialist, I'll be focused on:
  • Building strong relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Creating engaging activities for students during lunch and at family events.

  • Bringing new resources and programs directly to our school.

By working together, we can create a welcoming and safe environment where every student feels supported. This won't be easy, but I'm ready for the challenge. I'm here to help students and families find the resources they need so that our students can focus, thrive in class, and improve their attendance.

I'm eager to get to know all of you. If you have any suggestions for student activities or family engagement events, please don't hesitate to reach out. I look forward to collaborating with everyone!
